North Queen Auto Parts has been in
business for almost 50 years (since 1958). Co-owners Bob and
Walter Sembay are proud to say that five of their twenty-plus
staff are family members.
Included are Bob's daughters Barbara,
Samantha and Trisha, as well as Walter's sons Andrew and Adrian.
Barbara works in sales and handles the marketing, while Samantha
heads up the inventory department. While not a direct employee,
Trisha works upstairs in the office of the five acre facility
managing the administrative duties of the Car Management Solutions
QRP network. Andrew also works in the sales department and is
in charge of shipping and receiving, and Adrian is a staff mechanic.
The
company has managed to expand its business by forming a unique
partnership. "Our members in Car Management have
partnered with Co-Auto group of dealerships and shops in Ontario," says
Bob. "This has allowed us to distribute products further
within the industry."
"It's exciting," adds Barb. "Each
day we're shipping out more recycled products to new customers.
And thanks to enhancements in computerized ordering, we are shipping
more products across the province into different markets." |

Although all the Sembay children were encouraged to go to
university and college in order to pursue their dreams, each
decided to return to the auto recycling industry after graduation.
Barb
adds "We have our ups and downs
like any other organization. But as a family run business I
find we can work together more efficiently to solve the problem
and get the job done right for our customers. At the end of
the day it's not just the part you sold, it's the relationship
with customers that makes it worth all the hard work."
