Mow Down Pollution is a program initiated by the Clean Air Foundation designed to encourage and reward the public to permanently retire their old, higher-polluting gasoline mowers and trimmers. People who bring in their old gas mowers or trimmers to any Home Depot location across Canada will receive an instant rebate on the purchase of a more environmentally friendly electric or push power mower, cordless rechargeable trimmer or lower emission gas mower.

Did you know that in 2006, 2191 gas lawnmowers were returned and permanently recycled through the Mow Down Pollution event resulting in the reduction of over 60 tonnes of greenhouse gas and smog-forming emissions? Since 2001, the Mow Down Pollution program has resulted in the collection and recycling of 12,200 higher-polluting gas mowers and trimmers. This has resulted in the reduction of 270 tonnes of net emission reductions.
